The hungarian trombone player Mátyás Papp has performed with important artists of the world. Internationally recognized players not just from the United States but also from Europe including The New York Voices, Rhoda Scott, Jim Rotondi, Evan Arntzen, Herbert Christ, Tommy Vig and Ray Anderson. Matyas began his music studies at age six in his hometown, Kecskemét. He continued his studies at the Graz University with Ed Neumeister. There he had the chance to study with musicians like Stjepko Gut, Ed Neumeister, Michael Abene, Renato Chicco and Sigi Feigl.
Nowadays he is studiing in the Kunts Universitate in Graz. He already performed couple of times with the Modern Art Orchestra, Budapest Jazz Orchestra. He was on tour and played many concerts with the Bohém Ragtime Jazz Band, Hot Jazz Band. Since 2017 he is the member of the Jazz Orchester Steiermark. In 2014 he got the best arrangement price on the Hungarian Composer and Arranger Competition.
His latest project is The Coquette Jazz Band, that he created with his good friend Mátyás Bartha together. The band plays danceable swing music and performed in many venues and festivals including the Jazzland in Vienna or the Jazz Capital Festival in Hungary. They are planning to release their first album at the end of May, and present it in France, Hungary and Austria.
